Lewis Carroll, was born in the UK on January 27, 1832.His real name is Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, was using the pseudonym of only Lewis Carroll when activity as a writer.

Rip Van Winkle and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving

Written while Irving was living abroad in Birmingham, England, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" was first published in 1820. Along with Irving's companion piece "Rip Van Winkle", "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" is among the earliest examples of American fiction with enduring popularity, especially during the Halloween season.

Irving was born as the son of a merchant in Manhattan in New York City. Father is Scottish and his mother in England immigrants, was the youngest of 11 people.
